Two Steps from Hell was an American production music company founded in Los Angeles in early 2006 by Norwegian composer Thomas Bergersen and English composer Nick Phoenix. The pair created original music demos for licensing within the movie advertising industry and partnered with Extreme Music to handle licensing. Their orchestral and choral compositions, often described as epic music, appeared in film trailers and television commercials. As listeners discovered the music, the company began releasing it publicly, starting with Invincible in 2010 and Archangel in 2011; SkyWorld followed in 2012 with mostly new music. Their first concert took place at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles in 2013. As demand for traditional trailer music waned in the mid-2010s, the composers shifted toward varied public albums while also releasing more of their earlier catalog. Battlecry (2015), Unleashed (2017), and Myth (2022) each reached number one on the Billboard Classical Crossover Albums chart. The duo began European touring in 2022. In 2024, Bergersen and Phoenix announced they would go their separate ways, bringing Two Steps from Hell to an end.
