Following a trial, the airline continued St. Augustine service. In 2017 and 2018, ViaAir announced additional destinations from Austin, including Oklahoma City, Tucson, Little Rock, and Tulsa. In May 2019, it suspended most commercial operations, citing a pilot shortage, and Austin service ended that month. Via Airlines announced a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in October 2019 and ceased all operations. In July 2020, Florida investment firm Wexford Capital acquired the airline and announced plans to relaunch it under a new name.
