Product Details & Size Guide
Set down ideas alongside a fascinating piece of beverage history with this Virgin Drinks Spiral Notebook. The company began in Folkestone, Kent, in 1994, working with Cott as the Virgin Group launched Virgin Cola. After the cola found success, the range expanded to Virgin Vodka and briefly included functional energy drinks in daytime and nighttime versions. Changing retail access made competition difficult, and the cola’s reach narrowed. Rights transferred to Silver Spring Soft Drinks in 2007, when Virgin Drinks became defunct. An everyday writing companion for fans of bold brand ventures and corporate history.
Virgin Drinks was a subsidiary of the Virgin Group, owned by Richard Branson. It began in 1994 in conjunction with Cott to oversee and manage production of Virgin Cola, described as Virgin's first drink. The company was initially based in Folkestone, Kent, in the United Kingdom, and Virgin Cola launched in early 1994. After the cola achieved enough success, Virgin Drinks went on to produce Virgin Vodka. It also briefly tried beverages in the functional energy-drink category, in three flavours including Lemon and Lime. These were sold as daytime versions called Virgin DT and nighttime versions called Virgin NT, the latter described as a functional alcoholic beverage with added vodka. The energy range lasted only a short time. After thirteen years, the brand declined as rival Coca-Cola secured exclusive distribution deals in major stores and restaurants, limiting Virgin Cola to select supermarkets and local stores. Virgin Group decided it could not compete with cola rivals. In 2007, Virgin Drinks transferred the rights to Virgin Cola to Silver Spring Soft Drinks. Virgin Vodka was discontinued after the company failed to find a buyer, and Virgin Drinks became defunct in 2007.
