Vision Airlines was established in 1994 as Vision Air, with operations headquartered in North Las Vegas, Nevada. Its early work included charter flights serving tour destinations in northern Arizona and Nevada, among them the Grand Canyon, Marble Canyon, Hoover Dam, and Monument Valley. It also carried river rafters along the Colorado River and flew charter services for tour operators. In January 2011, the company announced scheduled service from Northwest Florida Regional Airport near Fort Walton Beach and Destin, beginning that March and linking the Florida hub with destinations across the United States. It later announced routes from Freeport, Bahamas, and a Myrtle Beach-based schedule for 2012. By 2013, its scheduled flying had narrowed to routes from Gulfport-Biloxi to St. Petersburg and Orlando; the airline subsequently discontinued independent scheduled passenger service. In 2014, it operated Boeing 737 flights for the relaunched People Express Airlines from Newport News/Williamsburg, but that carrier cancelled its flights in September. Vision also flew charter service for Sandals Resorts between Toronto and the Bahamas beginning in November 2014. It no longer operated aircraft by May 2017.
