The board said that market volatility resulting from the 2008 financial crisis had diminished the appeal of a holding company for Gazprom depositary receipts. As the liquidation proceeded, shareholders received Gazprom depositary receipts in exchange for their Swedish depositary receipts in Vostok Gas.
