In 1986, its partners sold the firm to The Travelers Companies. It was sold to Barings in 1991, bought back by management in 1995, then acquired by Swiss Bank Corporation in 1997 and merged with S. G. Warburg & Co. to form Warburg Dillon Read. The 1998 merger of Swiss Bank Corporation and Union Bank of Switzerland brought it into UBS. UBS later established Dillon Read Capital Management in 2005 and announced its closure in 2007.
