GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Add a piece of regional airline history to your desk with this foldable mobile phone display stand featuring Western Airlines. The Bellingham startup began scheduled-charter operations on January 18, 2007, with a flight to Ontario, California, and built a small network reaching San Diego and Mesa, Arizona. It suspended service on February 7 after debts to suppliers, making its brief run a compelling snapshot of early-2000s startup aviation. A fitting desk accessory for route-map fans, airline collectors, and anyone curious about short-lived carriers.
Western Airlines was a short-lived American low-cost airline headquartered in Bellingham, Washington. It grew from a local effort to bring more passenger service to Bellingham International Airport: in 2004, Port of Bellingham officials set a goal of adding destinations beyond Seattle, and in late 2005 the Port announced a lease with the startup, founded by two local businessmen with aviation experience. On November 16, 2006, the airline announced planned January service from Bellingham to four vacation destinations; Reno, Nevada, was later cancelled before flights began. Operations started on January 18, 2007, with a flight to Ontario, California. Western operated as a scheduled charter using aircraft wet leased from Xtra Airways while pursuing FAA approval as a commercial airline. Its network included Bellingham, Ontario, San Diego, and Mesa/Phoenix, Arizona. On February 7, 2007, Western suspended operations because of debts to suppliers, including Xtra Airways and its Bellingham fuel vendor. Xtra Airways continued flying to return Western passengers to their originating airport. The source does not identify a successor or a merger; Western's planned service did not resume.
