Western Maryland Railway, reporting mark WM and widely known as the Wild Mary, operated from 1852 to 1983 across Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania, with headquarters in Baltimore. It began as the Baltimore, Carroll and Frederick Railroad, chartered in 1852; the company adopted the Western Maryland Rail Road name in 1853. Construction reached Westminster in 1861, Union Bridge in 1862, and Hagerstown in 1872. The railway expanded through connections, leases, and acquisitions, including routes into Pennsylvania and the 1905 acquisition of the West Virginia Central and Pittsburgh Railway. Its system served coal, timber, and heavy freight markets, while passenger service continued until the late 1950s. A new Western Maryland Railway Company acquired the assets after receivership in 1909. Control was approved for the C&O and B&O in 1968, and the railway joined the Chessie System in 1973. Independent operations ended in 1975, and WM was fully merged into the B&O in 1983. Subsequent corporate consolidation placed the route network within CSX Transportation in 1987.

- Use warm water, dish soap and clean spots off your sleeve. It's not necessary to soak the whole sleeve. For hard to clean spots use a soft bristled brush.
