Ghost Corp Apparel — resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Imair Airlines was a Baku, Azerbaijan carrier established on October 6, 1994. It began flying in July 1995 as Improtex, then operated under the Imair name—one of the early private-airline stories of post-Soviet Azerbaijan. Its airline identifiers were IATA IK, ICAO ITX, and the wonderfully industrial callsign “Improtex.”

Based at Baku’s Heydar Aliyev International Airport, Imair combined scheduled international service with charter flying. Its late-era network connected Baku with places including Almaty, Astana, Surgut, Tashkent, and Bodrum. This was not the mega-hub airline experience: it was a compact, purposeful operation built around regional connections and a pair of Tupolev Tu-154Ms—the kind of three-engined hardware that made an entrance whether the terminal was ready or not.

The airline ceased operations on November 23, 2009, and reportedly planned to sell its two remaining Tu-154 aircraft. The Improtex group identifies ImAir as one of its first companies and describes it as Azerbaijan’s first private airline. Imair’s chapter was brief, but its logo, codes, and fleet preserve a sharply specific snapshot of Baku aviation in the 1990s and 2000s.
