Add a subtle aviation-history touch to your desk with this Abelag Aviation mouse pad. Established in Brussels in 1964, Abelag served charter, air taxi, cargo and medical flight needs, with bases and locations extending across Belgium, France and the Netherlands. Its milestones include absorbing Lamda Jet, merging with Sky Service, receiving a major European safety award and opening a business aviation terminal at Brussels Airport. The Abelag name's later transition to Luxaviation Belgium gives this piece added interest for company-history collectors.
Abelag Aviation was a Brussels, Belgium-based air charter company established in 1964. It operated ad hoc charter, air taxi, cargo and medical flights, along with VIP helicopter flights and air ambulance services. Brussels Airport served as its main base, with other locations in Antwerp, Kortrijk-Wevelgem, Paris-Le Bourget and Eindhoven. The company absorbed Lamda Jet in 1995 and merged with Sky Service in 2005. In May 2010, it received the European Business Aviation Association's Gold Safety Flight Award, recognizing more than 40 years of safe flights around the world. Abelag inaugurated its Business Aviation Terminal at Brussels Airport in 2012. In 2013, Luxaviation Belgium took over the company. From 2016, the Abelag brand name was replaced by the Luxaviation Belgium trading name, while the company's social seats in Brussels and Kortrijk-Wevelgem continued under the Abelag name. Abelag Aviation was wholly owned by Abelag Aviation Group. Its listed fleet included Cessna Citation, Bombardier Challenger and Global, and Dassault Falcon aircraft.
