This ImagineAir youth hoodie sweatshirt connects young travelers and future pilots with a notable chapter in regional aviation. Started near Atlanta in 2005, ImagineAir pursued a simple, tech-enabled air taxi concept with a Cirrus-only fleet and online booking. Its expansion to Charleston and Raleigh, 2014 merger with Kavoo, and 2018 suspension form a real-world story of ambition, growth, and change in private flying.
ImagineAir was an air taxi service headquartered in metro Atlanta, Georgia. It was founded in November 2005 as ImagineAir Jet Services LLC by Paul Fischer, Aaron Sohacki, and Benjamin Hamilton, with headquarters at Gwinnett County Airport near Atlanta. The founders initially intended to build a network around Eclipse 500 very light jets, but delivery delays led the company to begin flying Cirrus SR22 aircraft instead. Its model drew on the Small Aircraft Transportation System industry study developed by NASA and emphasized a uniform fleet, technology-enabled operations, and online booking designed to make charter access feel more familiar. From 2007 through 2012, ImagineAir reported steady quarter-over-quarter growth, tripled its Cirrus fleet, and established bases in Charleston, South Carolina, and Raleigh, North Carolina. In March 2014, it announced a merger with Connecticut-based operator Kavoo, expanding service across the East Coast. ImagineAir suspended operations in May 2018 after its leadership and advisors could not secure needed funding.
