Give your everyday viewing spot a connection to Cleveland's West Side with this Kamm's Corners foldable mobile phone display stand. The neighborhood grew around Oswald Kamm's general store and local post office, opened in 1875 at Lorain Avenue and Rocky River Drive. Though the original store was torn down, a second building from 1900 still stands at the site. This useful desk companion celebrates the neighborhood's lasting identity and offers a distinctive pick for local-history fans and former West Park neighbors.
Kamm's Corners is a neighborhood on Cleveland's West Side, named for Swiss immigrant and local merchant Oswald Kamm. In 1875, Kamm purchased four acres at the southwest corner of Lorain Avenue and Rocky River Drive and opened a general store that also served as the local post office. The original store was torn down in 1900, and a second store was built on the same site; it still stands in the neighborhood's retail district. Kamm's Corners is one of four sub-neighborhoods in the larger historical neighborhood of West Park, alongside Jefferson, Bellaire–Puritas, and Hopkins. West Park was named for early settler John West. Cleveland annexed West Park in 1923, making it the last large suburb to become part of the city. The neighborhood's boundaries include Lakewood to the north, the Rocky River Reservation and the suburbs of Rocky River and Fairview Park to the west, railroad tracks to the east, and Puritas Road to the south. Kamm's Corners Plaza and Warren Village are its major retail centers. A 2019 census estimate identified the neighborhood as having Cleveland and Cuyahoga County's highest concentration of Irish Americans.
