Product Details & Size Guide
Bring a piece of northeastern railroad history into everyday wear with this Lehigh and Hudson River Railway cuffed beanie. The railway began with the Warwick Valley line, then grew into a compact bridge route linking regional freight with larger connections near Maybrook and the Poughkeepsie Bridge. Its story includes local dairy, coal, and zinc traffic, a shift from steam to diesel, and eventual absorption into Conrail. A thoughtful pick for rail enthusiasts and admirers of the line’s enduring regional legacy.
The Lehigh and Hudson River Railway (L&HR) grew from the Warwick Valley Railroad, organized in 1860 to connect Warwick, New York, with the Erie at Greycourt. The Warwick line opened in 1862. In 1881, the Lehigh and Hudson River, Pequest and Wallkill, and Wawayanda companies combined; the Warwick Valley joined on April 1, 1882, creating the L&HR. Its route linked Belvidere, New Jersey, and Greycourt, later extending northeast to Maybrook, where freight could continue over the Poughkeepsie Bridge toward New England. A Delaware River bridge and related railroad companies were consolidated with the L&HR in 1912, completing a connection to Easton, Pennsylvania. The 72-mile bridge line carried freight between connecting railroads, while also serving local dairy, coal, and zinc traffic. Passenger service ended in 1939, and steam gave way to diesel locomotives by 1950. After filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 1972, the railway was absorbed into Conrail in 1976. Later, sections passed to successor operators, including the New York, Susquehanna and Western Railway and Norfolk Southern; parts of the former route were abandoned or became trails.

This cuffed beanie carries a lived-in street energy—soft, warm, and quietly bold. The low-profile embroidery sits on the cuff like a personal insignia: a small, slightly distressed logo with a touch of red that reads as both vintage and current. It slips on easily and stays put through commutes, late-night walks, and chilly market runs, adding a subtle graphic edge without shouting.
Wear it with a worn denim jacket, layered knit, or an oversized coat. It works for creatives who like to curate a look that’s casual but considered, for city cyclists who need dependable warmth, or for anyone who favors compact, tactile details. The hypoallergenic acrylic knit keeps things comfortable against the skin while the 12" cuff gives you styling flexibility—fold it high for warmth or roll it low for a slouchier silhouette. This is a small, everyday piece that quietly completes an outfit and ages into its own personality.
