Celebrate a fictional carrier known for stories that travel from the screen to the imagination with this Oceanic Airlines Hoodie / Sweatshirt. Oceanic first appeared in a 1965 Flipper episode, returned in Executive Decision, and became especially familiar through Lost and the fate of Flight 815. Its aviation-disaster associations make it a memorable piece of fictional airline history. Wear it as a fan nod to the series, or add it to a collection focused on screen brands and aviation-inspired pop culture.
Oceanic Airlines, also called Oceanic Airways less frequently, is a fictional airline used in films, television programs, and other media. It first appeared in the 1965 two-part episode “The Ditching” of the television series Flipper. The airline later appeared in the 1996 film Executive Decision, whose aircraft footage was reused as stock footage in several works. It became especially recognizable through the 2004–2010 television series Lost, in which Oceanic Airlines Flight 815 crashes on an island in the Pacific Ocean. Other appearances include the 2011 video game Dead Island. For Executive Decision, most aircraft footage used a Boeing 747-269B registered as N707CK; the aircraft had previously served Ocean Airlines as S2-ADT and was scrapped in 2004. Crash and ground scenes were filmed at Mojave Airport using a different, retired Boeing 747-121. It remained there after filming, painted in Oceanic Airlines colors with a simulated dark hole on its fuselage and a false N707CK registration. Its actual service registrations included N754PA, LX-FCV, and F-GIMJ. Across these appearances, the fictional airline is commonly associated with aviation-disaster plots.
