SkyWest, Inc. acquired Atlantic Southeast Airlines in 2005 and planned to combine it with ExpressJet in 2010; ExpressJet was later sold, with the sale closing in 2019. In 2024, SkyWest took a 25 percent stake in Contour Airlines and agreed to operate additional Embraer 175 aircraft for United Express.
