Jackson & Curtis was founded in Boston, Massachusetts, in July 1879 by Charles Cabot Jackson and Laurence Curtis as an investment banking firm. The business began on Congress Street and, with two employees, leased premises there in May 1881. A member of the Boston Stock Exchange, it acquired a seat on the New York Stock Exchange in 1890. In June 1942, following the difficult years of the Great Depression, Jackson & Curtis merged with fellow Boston brokerage Paine & Webber. The combined Paine, Webber, Jackson & Curtis operated 22 branch offices and became a significant participant in the New England financial market. Known as Paine Webber Jackson & Curtis, the firm moved its headquarters from Boston to New York in 1963. Its holding company, PaineWebber Inc., was incorporated in 1970 and went public on the New York Stock Exchange in 1974. The business acquired Mitchell Hutchins in 1977 and Blyth, Eastman Dillon & Co. in 1979. In 1984, its divisions were consolidated as Paine Webber Inc.; Paine Webber was acquired by UBS AG in 2000.

Care instructions
- Keep the burning candle within sight, and keep away from children and pets. Never burn the candle near flammable items. For best results, burn the candle for 3 - 4 hours in each lighting and trim the wick to 1/4" before lighting. Discontinue use with 1/2" of wax remaining.
