Aloha Airlines Cuffed Beanie
Top off cooler travel days with an Aloha Airlines cuffed beanie inspired by a Honolulu carrier whose story ran from 1946 to 2008. Beginning as Trans-Pacific Airlines, Aloha became a familiar inter-island name and later brought Boeing 737 Funbirds into Hawaii skies. The beanie offers a low-key way to celebrate Hawaiian aviation, airline design, and the memories attached to a long-running local carrier. Made for collectors, travelers, and aviation fans alike.
Aloha Airlines was a Honolulu, Hawaii-based passenger carrier that operated from 1946 to 2008, with its hub at Honolulu International Airport, now Daniel K. Inouye International Airport. Publisher Ruddy F. Tongg Sr. founded it as charter carrier Trans-Pacific Airlines, beginning service on July 26, 1946, with a Douglas C-47 flight from Honolulu to Maui and Hilo. Scheduled service followed in June 1949 after federal approval. The company adopted the name TPA-The Aloha Airline in 1950 and became Aloha Airlines in 1958. Its fleet evolved from DC-3s and turboprops to BAC One-Eleven and Boeing 737 jets; the 737-200s were called Funbirds. Aloha acquired Princeville Airways in 1987 as Aloha IslandAir, later Island Air, which became independent in 2003. Mainland service began in 2000. After two Chapter 11 filings, Aloha ended scheduled passenger flights on March 31, 2008. Saltchuk Resources acquired its cargo division, while the Aloha name and intellectual property were purchased by Yucaipa Companies in 2011.

This cuffed beanie carries a lived-in street energy—soft, warm, and quietly bold. The low-profile embroidery sits on the cuff like a personal insignia: a small, slightly distressed logo with a touch of red that reads as both vintage and current. It slips on easily and stays put through commutes, late-night walks, and chilly market runs, adding a subtle graphic edge without shouting.
Wear it with a worn denim jacket, layered knit, or an oversized coat. It works for creatives who like to curate a look that’s casual but considered, for city cyclists who need dependable warmth, or for anyone who favors compact, tactile details. The hypoallergenic acrylic knit keeps things comfortable against the skin while the 12" cuff gives you styling flexibility—fold it high for warmth or roll it low for a slouchier silhouette. This is a small, everyday piece that quietly completes an outfit and ages into its own personality.
