Fry's Electronics, Inc. Cuffed Beanie
This cuffed beanie is for the people who remember Fry's Electronics as more than a store. From its 1985 Sunnyvale opening to its expansion across nine states, Fry's became a destination for computer parts, test equipment, software, magazines, and unexpected aisle discoveries. Wear it as a low-key nod to Silicon Valley retail history, late project runs, and the beloved electronics landmark that closed in 2021.
Fry's Electronics was an American big-box retailer headquartered in San Jose, California, in Silicon Valley. John, Randy, and David Fry, joined by Kathryn Kolder, opened the first store on May 17, 1985, in Sunnyvale. Drawing on the brothers' grocery-retail background, the store combined computer and electronic supplies with technical books, magazines, snacks, and other goods, promoting itself as "The One-Stop Shop for the Silicon Valley Professional." Its early assortment included integrated circuits, test equipment, computer components, software, and off-the-shelf microprocessors. Fry's later relocated twice within Sunnyvale before expanding across the United States. In 1996, it bought and converted Incredible Universe superstores. At its 2019 peak, Fry's had 34 stores in nine states. The company also developed online sales after acquiring Cyberian Outpost in 2001; Frys.com was relaunched as its unified online storefront in 2006. Fry's announced the immediate permanent closure of all stores on February 24, 2021.

This cuffed beanie carries a lived-in street energy—soft, warm, and quietly bold. The low-profile embroidery sits on the cuff like a personal insignia: a small, slightly distressed logo with a touch of red that reads as both vintage and current. It slips on easily and stays put through commutes, late-night walks, and chilly market runs, adding a subtle graphic edge without shouting.
Wear it with a worn denim jacket, layered knit, or an oversized coat. It works for creatives who like to curate a look that’s casual but considered, for city cyclists who need dependable warmth, or for anyone who favors compact, tactile details. The hypoallergenic acrylic knit keeps things comfortable against the skin while the 12" cuff gives you styling flexibility—fold it high for warmth or roll it low for a slouchier silhouette. This is a small, everyday piece that quietly completes an outfit and ages into its own personality.
