GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Carry a reminder of Hastings Entertainment wherever the next trip leads. For years, Hastings was a familiar stop for books, music, movies, games, comics, and collectibles across regional shopping communities. This luggage tag celebrates the Amarillo-rooted chain and its 1968–2016 story, from West Texas News to a beloved entertainment destination. A thoughtful travel accessory for former customers, road trippers, and physical-media collectors.
Hastings Entertainment, also known as Hastings, was an American entertainment retail chain based in Amarillo, Texas. Its roots reached to 1968, when West Texas News began as a newsstand provider and later became part of books-and-music wholesaler Western Merchandisers, Inc. Western Merchandisers became a Wal-Mart Stores subsidiary in 1990, was sold to Anderson Media Corporation in 1994, and subsequently operated as Anderson Merchandisers. Hastings diversified beyond books, music, and video as media retail changed. A 2010 account with Diamond Comic Distributors expanded comic sections across its stores and made Hastings the largest direct-market comic book retailer in the United States. The company also opened Sun Adventure Sport in Amarillo and Lubbock and launched the used-media and electronics concept Tradesmart in Littleton, Colorado, in 2011. Draw Another Circle LLC acquired Hastings in July 2014. After a June 2016 bankruptcy filing and auction, liquidation firms closed all remaining stores by the end of October 2016. Calendar Holdings LLC acquired the Hastings intellectual property.
