GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Give your desk, kitchen counter, or workbench a Westinghouse Electric Corporation touch with this foldable mobile phone display stand. The Westinghouse story began in Pittsburgh in 1886 and reached from AC infrastructure and Niagara Falls generators to broadcasting, appliances, transportation, and nuclear technology. It is a useful choice for industrial-design collectors, engineers, and fans of the distinctive legacy graphics associated with this historic American name.
Westinghouse Electric Corporation began in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on January 8, 1886, when George Westinghouse founded the business that became Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Company. Building on alternating-current technology, it developed AC infrastructure in the United States, with major factories in East Pittsburgh and Lester, Pennsylvania, and Hamilton, Ontario. The company helped demonstrate transformer-based lighting in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, in 1886, installed AC generators at Niagara Falls in 1895, and put its first commercial steam-turbine generator into service at Hartford Electric Light Co. in 1901. Its work expanded into power equipment, broadcasting, appliances, transportation, aviation, and nuclear technology. Renamed Westinghouse Electric Corporation in 1945, it later changed course through finance and broadcasting. It bought CBS in 1994, became CBS Corporation in 1997, and sold its nuclear business to BNFL in 1999; that business was re-formed as Westinghouse Electric Company. The Westinghouse trademarks were acquired by Westinghouse Electric Corporation in 2021.
