GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Carry a piece of New York-area media history on every trip with this Cablevision luggage tag. The name recalls the cable company that grew from Long Island and New York City systems into a familiar regional connection for millions of subscribers. It is a fitting travel accessory for collectors of telecommunications memorabilia, Optimum-era nostalgia, and the metropolitan stories that shaped modern cable service.
Cablevision Systems Corporation was an American cable television company centered on the New York metropolitan area. In the mid-1960s, Charles Dolan built Sterling Manhattan Cable in Manhattan and launched Home Box Office, then sold both to Time Life Inc. He used the proceeds to begin a suburban Long Island system called CableVision. After adopting the Cablevision name, the company expanded through construction and acquisitions across Long Island, New York City, New Jersey, Westchester County, and Connecticut. It later entered the Chicago, Boston, and Cleveland areas, serving 2.9 million subscribers in 19 states by the mid-1990s. Late-1990s transactions consolidated operations around New York, Cleveland, and Boston; a deal with TCI brought 10 New York-area systems to Cablevision. In 2000 it sold systems outside New York. Cablevision acquired Bresnan Communications in 2010, renamed it Optimum West in 2011, and sold it to Charter in 2013. Altice acquired Cablevision on June 21, 2016. Former services continue under Optimum Communications.
