Continental Airlines Cuffed Beanie
This Continental Airlines cuffed beanie brings a classic airline name to cold-weather travel days, airport runs, and everyday wear. The design celebrates a company that grew from Varney Speed Lines in 1934 into a jet-age carrier known for its Golden Tail and later globe identity. It is a fitting keepsake for Continental collectors and travelers connected to Houston, Denver, Newark, Cleveland, or the wider route map.
Continental Airlines began in 1934 as Varney Speed Lines, operating airmail and passenger service from El Paso through New Mexico to Pueblo, Colorado. Robert F. Six became general manager on July 5, 1936, and the carrier was renamed Continental Air Lines on July 8, 1937. Its headquarters moved to Denver that October, later shifting to Los Angeles in 1963 and Houston in 1983. Continental merged with Pioneer Air Lines in 1955, adding cities in Texas and New Mexico. It expanded from regional roots into a trunk carrier, introducing Boeing 707 service in 1959 and later operating aircraft including the DC-9, 727, 747 and DC-10. Texas International Airlines merged operations with Continental in 1982 while retaining the Continental identity. Further mergers brought People Express, Frontier, New York Air and commuter carriers into Continental in 1987. Continental and United announced their merger in 2010; the United name, Continental operating certificate and globe livery were retained. Integration was completed March 3, 2012.

This cuffed beanie carries a lived-in street energy—soft, warm, and quietly bold. The low-profile embroidery sits on the cuff like a personal insignia: a small, slightly distressed logo with a touch of red that reads as both vintage and current. It slips on easily and stays put through commutes, late-night walks, and chilly market runs, adding a subtle graphic edge without shouting.
Wear it with a worn denim jacket, layered knit, or an oversized coat. It works for creatives who like to curate a look that’s casual but considered, for city cyclists who need dependable warmth, or for anyone who favors compact, tactile details. The hypoallergenic acrylic knit keeps things comfortable against the skin while the 12" cuff gives you styling flexibility—fold it high for warmth or roll it low for a slouchier silhouette. This is a small, everyday piece that quietly completes an outfit and ages into its own personality.
