GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Top off cold-weather days with an E. F. Hutton beanie rooted in American brokerage history. Founded in San Francisco in 1904, the firm became a recognizable name in retail investing, with a story that moved from California to Wall Street and a nationwide network. Its later chapters through Shearson Lehman Hutton and Smith Barney add depth for anyone drawn to finance nostalgia, corporate archives, and enduring business names.

E. F. Hutton & Co. was founded in San Francisco in 1904 by Edward Francis Hutton and his brother, Franklyn Laws Hutton. An early California brokerage, it lost its offices in the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. Wall Street trader Gerald M. Loeb joined in 1924 and ultimately became chairman. The firm built a nationwide retail brokerage network for debt and equity securities, with seasonal offices in Palm Beach, Florida, and Saratoga Springs, New York; its first one-man Maui office opened in December 1969. Robert M. Fomon became chief executive officer in 1970. After a difficult 1980s, E. F. Hutton agreed to merge with Shearson Lehman/American Express in December 1987; the transaction took effect in 1988 as Shearson Lehman Hutton. American Express stopped using the Hutton name in 1990, renaming the business Shearson Lehman Brothers. In 1993, the Shearson and Hutton business was sold to Primerica and combined with Smith Barney. Later mergers placed remnants of the original firm within Citigroup and then Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. The EF Hutton name was revived again in 2021 for EF Hutton Group.

This cuffed beanie carries a lived-in street energy—soft, warm, and quietly bold. The low-profile embroidery sits on the cuff like a personal insignia: a small, slightly distressed logo with a touch of red that reads as both vintage and current. It slips on easily and stays put through commutes, late-night walks, and chilly market runs, adding a subtle graphic edge without shouting.

Wear it with a worn denim jacket, layered knit, or an oversized coat. It works for creatives who like to curate a look that’s casual but considered, for city cyclists who need dependable warmth, or for anyone who favors compact, tactile details. The hypoallergenic acrylic knit keeps things comfortable against the skin while the 12" cuff gives you styling flexibility—fold it high for warmth or roll it low for a slouchier silhouette. This is a small, everyday piece that quietly completes an outfit and ages into its own personality.
