A relaxed cap is an easy way to represent the Milwaukee Road wherever the rails lead. The Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad became one of America’s most memorable fallen flags, spanning Midwest gateways, western electrified territory, and Pacific Northwest routes. Its streamlined Hiawatha service remains a lasting symbol of passenger-rail style. Wear this piece for train shows, museum visits, rail trails, or everyday appreciation of railroad history.

The Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad, widely known as the Milwaukee Road, grew from the Milwaukee and Waukesha Railroad, incorporated in Wisconsin in 1847. Renamed the Milwaukee and Mississippi Railroad in 1850, it opened its first five-mile line between Milwaukee and Wauwatosa on November 20 that year, then reached Prairie du Chien on the Mississippi River in 1857. After receivership, its successors were combined in 1867 as the Milwaukee and St. Paul; the name changed to Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railway in 1874 after a Chicago extension opened in 1872. The railroad built its Pacific Extension to Seattle and Tacoma between 1906 and 1909 and adopted its final corporate name during reorganization in 1928. Its Hiawatha passenger trains became a defining part of its identity. Financial strain led to the end of Pacific Extension operations west of Miles City, Montana, in 1980. The remaining system merged into Soo Line Railroad on January 1, 1986; Soo Line later became part of Canadian Pacific.
