GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Put CompUSA on the tee with a tribute to a defining name in computer-store history. From its Soft Warehouse beginnings in Addison, Texas, in 1984, CompUSA expanded into a nationwide retailer where shoppers explored personal computers, software, accessories, electronics, and service options. These golf balls pair a favorite pastime with nostalgia for the big-box technology era, including the company’s CompUSA.com, Computer City, Good Guys, Circuit City, and TigerDirect connections. A memorable choice for golfers who love classic tech culture.
CompUSA began as Soft Warehouse, founded in 1984 in Addison, Texas, by Errol Jacobson and Mike Henochowicz. Its first superstore opened in Addison in 1986, and national expansion began with an Atlanta megastore in 1988. Renamed CompUSA in 1991, the business became publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange and developed into a nationwide big-box retailer of computers, electronics, technology products, and services. The company launched CompUSA.com retail sales in 1996, partnered with Apple Computer on in-store Macintosh departments in 1997, and acquired Tandy's Computer City in 1998. Grupo Sanborns purchased 85 percent of CompUSA in 2000, making it private. CompUSA acquired Good Guys in 2003 and later used the "CompUSA with Good Guys Inside" name in California and Hawaii. Major closures began in 2006 and accelerated in 2007. Systemax acquired the brand, e-commerce business, technical services, and 16 locations in 2008. In 2012, Systemax consolidated CompUSA and Circuit City storefronts into TigerDirect.
