GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Set down a drink on a piece inspired by the broad Westinghouse Electric legacy. The company’s story runs from Pittsburgh alternating-current infrastructure and the 1901 steam turbine generator to KDKA broadcasting, household appliances, and later corporate chapters. This ceramic coaster brings industrial-history interest to coffee tables, desks, home bars, and offices. It is a fitting accent for collectors who value American engineering, radio history, and mid-century electrical style.

Westinghouse Electric Corporation was founded by George Westinghouse in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on January 8, 1886. Originally called Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Company, it developed alternating-current infrastructure across the United States and operated major factories in East Pittsburgh and Lester, Pennsylvania, and Hamilton, Ontario. The company helped advance power generation, transmission, turbines, generators, motors, switchgear, rail equipment, broadcasting, consumer electronics, and appliances. Its first commercial steam turbine-driven generator began operating at Hartford Electric Light Co. in 1901. Westinghouse entered broadcasting with KDKA in Pittsburgh and WBZ in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1921, and the company name became Westinghouse Electric Corporation in 1945. The appliance business was acquired by White Consolidated Industries in 1975, forming White-Westinghouse. In the 1990s, Westinghouse shifted toward broadcasting, purchased CBS in 1995, and became CBS Corporation in 1997. Its nuclear business was sold to BNFL in 1999 and re-formed as Westinghouse Electric Company.

Ceramic coaster engraved with a simple, vintage-style wordmark that brings a quiet, archival charm to a coffee table or office desk. The cool ceramic top takes heat and condensation with calm confidence while the cork backing keeps cups steady and surfaces safe. It sits easily beside a well-loved mug during long work sessions or late-night reading, a small, steady surface that feels both practical and quietly nostalgic.
