GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Tee off with a reference to BellSouth, a defining name in the history of communications across the Southeast. These golf balls connect course-day tradition with an Atlanta company remembered for its Southern Bell and South Central Bell roots, FastAccess DSL service, and role in creating Cingular Wireless. BellSouth's 2006 acquisition by AT&T gives the name an added collector appeal. A memorable choice for telecom fans, former employees, and corporate-history golfers.
BellSouth was an American telecommunications holding company based in Atlanta, Georgia. It was formed on January 1, 1984, after the U.S. Department of Justice required American Telephone and Telegraph Company to divest its regional telephone companies. The new company held Atlanta-based Southern Bell and Birmingham-based South Central Bell, reconnecting much of the Southeast's telephone service under one holding company. In 1992, South Central Bell and BellSouth Services were merged into Southern Bell, which became BellSouth Telecommunications. Southern Bell and South Central Bell remained customer-facing names until 1998, when BellSouth became the sole brand. BellSouth offered telephone, internet, wireless, directory, and related services across nine southeastern states. It launched FastAccess DSL in 1998 and joined SBC's wireless business in 2001 to form Cingular Wireless. AT&T acquired BellSouth on December 29, 2006, following its March announcement; Cingular services moved to the AT&T name and BellSouth Telecommunications began doing business as AT&T Southeast.
